If the Mazda CMU freezes or locks up while driving – or if for any reason you need to reset the CMU – you can reset it without turning off the ignition by pressing the following button combination and holding it for 10 seconds: BACK + MUTE + NAV. The infotainment screen will go black then display the Mazda logo as the unit finishes rebooting.
The CX-50 and CX-90 already have wireless charging, wireless CarPlay, and CarPlay touch screen functionality. Work the rest of the snaps out. Tilt the screen forward to get access to the connectors. Disconnect the two cables. Let sit for 5-10 minutes. I started the car without the screen for good measure. Turn off the car. Plug the screen back in and start the car up and see if the screen turns on.
16 votes, 15 comments. true. many car manufacturers seem to be moving the displays back to discourage touch input. the idea is the commander wheel is fixed, tactile input and feedback. the touchscreen demands spacial awareness, distracting from the spacial awareness required for driving. my guess would be that unless you jailbreak or hack or whatever the software, you're stuck with the command
